OH JEGUS I'm so sorry for those who don't know Homestuck, I've been drawing characters from it A LOT and I'm totally hooked ohh you should go and read it

It has superawesome soundtrack. I'm so happy that there's so much uhh 'love' between the characters, especially Equius and his weird fantasies and how he's trying to fulfill them with approximately with everyone who's strong enough

But after so many hairy dudes I had to draw my most shotaish character Rasmus. Don't care about those machines I just draw what popped into my mind haha

Please tell me if it's better that I display the pictures like this or so that you have to open them into other window? Bigger pictures cover the sidebar on my laptop but I really don't care haha

Some things I found from my comp. These character designs are about two years old, I took part of an character design competition and won nothing. The winner was a little plastic-looking caterpillar and a snail with a tophat. That was very mind-opening event, I realized that I'll never be able to draw things that most people want to look at, mine are just too creepy and weird. So I quit graphic design and started studying animation and game design, I know you'd be more likely to find my kind of stuff from a horror game than kids book.

And oh god look at this page, I've started PRAGUE RACE about fifty times and second time I almost drew about 20 pages, here's one of them. Maybe I should put them all here for you to look at haha they're quite amusing. Translation is made by muura on dA

Here are some character reference sheet sketches from my project Prague Race, which is the working title of the project. I'm trying to figure out a better name but ahhh it is HARD. Anyway, Keska and Minni are courtesans in Pikokais brothel and the creature down there used to be a dragon but then he sort of got in an accident haha.. hes face is flat and it changes picture depending on the mood.

I don't like pokemon. Main reason for that is that I had to draw three comics about them. I know nothing about them (I lived in militar base in a certain island in Mediterranean while it was popular in Finland) and the game just irks me. Anyway, almost all of my friends adore pokemon, and we had this fanzine about them. Have my superfastdrawn pages! Sorry I don't have the patience to translate this shit! First thouch with 3D

Yay we are finally starting to play with 3D-programs! It's way much easier than I first thought it would be. First here's something we did earlier this year, we combined different photos and tried to make them look epic and stuff yeah. I (ofcourse) had to make a picture of the famous brigde from Prague. This is really shitty but don't look at the mistakes Here's a picture of my headphones from our photography course. This was shot in completely dark room with ten seconds.. lightning time? Don't know the terms in english haha

Here's my very first 3D-image.. And it looks horrible, But I'm still so happy that I know how to use the program (3D max)! My classmates did superawesome pictures that I can't even tell if they're photos or not. I know I wont be 3D-animator in the future, I'm better with traditional media and character design and conseptart and such.

A closeup to the candle. Ohhh deary me the lightning sucks : D AND textures. Awful. I hope that there aren't any 3D-wizards there watching these..

This is also from earlier this year. We got to texture a 3D-image of a city, both night and daytime.

Here's young!Dostov and young!Gerard. I just love writing Gerard, he has so many levels unlike for example Katsin, who's one of the most simpleminded characters I have. He does whatever he is told and does not reason anything. Gerard is having all sorts of problems from middle age crisis to his lovelife issues. And he's just so retarded looking with that blue mushroomhair (why did I even give that kind of hair for him in the first place!?) that it's always fun to draw him having srs faces that don't fit together with that goofy hair.

Improve, or not to improve

HEY I'll start this blog with some really old pictures I found from my old account. Also I wanted to think about my style and that where did it come from and where is it going.First of all, this.
One of my first comics with people in it, that I drew when I was about... 17? All hail the anime expressions. I've always thought that I have took a lot of inspiration from Naruto which was my first touch to manga. And I really discovered manga when I was about 17 haha. Before this I only did pictures of dragons and dinosaurs etc.

Now compare it to this;

I feel like I haven't changed! They're still the same. Thought this comic is about half a year old. It's like I haven't made any progress at ALL. Aarggh!!

But if I think about my understanding of general anatomy, take a look at this;
What. Made when I was 17. I still like this picture, though! Might be because I enjoy drawing mechanical things and I've always been quite good with them even if they look like they couldn't work in real life. But the anatomy, man. Head, fingers, everything. Why didn't anybody bother to give me critique back then? I get too much compliments and 'kawaii desunee!1' comments. I want to IMPROVE, so don't be afraid of giving me critique!

Fingers, man :----------------D They're like huge sausages. Even if these drawings are five or more years old, they're still quite the same as my new ones. Next a year old picture of the same boy;

I feel utterly desperated of the fact that I can't tell if I've made progress or not, that's why I really need critique and other peoples advices. Facial 'structure' is still the same after five years.

Same here, this;Made five years ago. And this;Couple of months old. THE FACE. No big differences, or so do I feel!
Eargh now I just think I'm not improving at all : D But also I know that I look at my drawings very critically, and I can't see things that other people see. That's why I need feedback, so I can get another view to my work. I love all kinds of comments, but I'd love to have more comments that are helpful for me!
